7 Best Resources for Early Stage Cincinnati Startups

As a mobile app developer, I’m contacted by one or more passionate founders in the early stages of the startup journey almost every week. There’s always a big idea, but in many cases, there’s also someone searching for startup advice and concrete next steps.

Luckily, there’s a strong start-up community in Cincinnati, and I love pointing early stage Cincinnati startups to seven of my favorite local resources:

1. The Brandery

The Brandery is a Cincinnati startup accelerator that offers financing, world-class mentorship, amazing partnership opportunities and introductions to investors nationwide.

2. UpTech

UpTech is an accelerator based in the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area that provides startups with the tools they need to fuel early-stage growth. UpTech works in partnership with the College of Informatics at Northern Kentucky University.

3. OCEAN Accelerator

OCEAN is the only independent faith-based accelerator in the United States, and is located in Cincinnati, Ohio. Similar to other accelerators, OCEAN provides a blend of training, mentorship, capital and co-working space to a select class of high-potential startups. The primary differentiating factor is that OCEAN also brings a unique focus on comprehensive founder development. It addresses such critical needs as faith, family and community within the context of business.

4. Cintrifuse

Think of Cintrifuse as the hub of the startup network in Cincinnati. It provides advisory services, funding, events and work space for startups. If you’re not quite ready to apply to an accelerator, try swinging by a few events at Cintrifuse.

5. CincyTech

CincyTech provides seed-stage investment and services to technology based startups in Southwest Ohio.

6. Greater Cincinnati Venture Association (GCVA)

This group hosts a wide range of events for the startup community. Network over beers at a wiffle ball tournament or set your alarm for the GCVA breakfast club.

7. Queen City Angels

Looking for funding? An ongoing mentor? Or just a little advice? Connect with the entrepreneurs, investors and business leaders behind Queen City Angels.

We hope these help point you toward your early stage startup’s next step. But if you’re still looking for more, try this extensive StartupCincy resource list.
